CLAY COLLECTIVE
Our studio membership & residency programme
Clay Collective is our studio membership, designed for individuals who have prior experience with ceramics or pottery and are looking for independent studio time. This is perfect for those who have moved beyond needing structured classes and simply want space and time to work on their projects. Whether you have a specific project in mind or just want to experiment and see what unfolds, this membership gives you the flexibility to do so at your own pace.
What is Clay Collective?
How does it work?
Clay Collective lets you join our studio community, offering space for those with ceramic experience to work independently. While you don’t need to be a professional, members should feel confident creating without instruction.
You’ll have access to the studio every day except during private or large group workshops, which are listed in a shared Google Calendar. Feeling social? Our Clay Collective group chat makes it easy to coordinate with fellow members for meet-ups.
While prior classes with us are not required, we do have an initial assessment to ensure your experience level aligns with our studio environment. This includes a studio overview, what’s provided, and a contract outlining studio policies, especially since members often work unsupervised.
Perks of a membership
-
Exclusive events: We occasionally organize brunches, community events, and members also receive discounts on select workshops.
-
Community spirit: Clay Collective is more than just studio access – it's a community of like-minded individuals where we all learn from each other. We believe in building a supportive space where members can share ideas and grow together.
Note:
Memberships do not renew automatically. If you wish to continue, please let us know at least two weeks in advance. At the end of your membership, we ask that you clear out your personal box and shelves to make space for others. Of course, any remaining pieces can still be fired, and we’ll notify you when they're ready for pickup.
There are two membership options available:
-
€250 for a 2-month membership: Includes 10 strips, each strip allowing for 2 hours of studio time. You can use up to 3 strips (6 hours) in a single day or spread them over the two months.
-
€450 for a 4-month membership: Includes 20 strips of 2 hours each.
-
Wish for a more permanent access? Ask about our residencies. No minimum or maximum hours required. Costs are €90 per month - no end date.
Note: Our students receive a 10% discount on their first membership (not applicable for residencies).
Please plan your time wisely as we do not offer the option to purchase fewer strips, refund unused strips, or extend the membership period. Double-check your calendar before committing!
Practicalities
As a member, you get:
-
Access to all studio tools, materials, and clay.
-
A personal box to store your work and shared shelf space for your tools.
-
The option to book extra 1-on-1 classes with Daniela or Silvana for €25 per hour if you need help with a project or a refresher on specific techniques.
Kiln firings are charged separately. We offer flexible firing options: you can either pay per individual piece or gather your work and fire half or full kilns. Our kiln cost guide is available in the studio for more details.
If, during the initial assessment, we feel that your skill level requires a bit more development to work independently, we may recommend enrolling in one of our 8-week courses or an intensive wheel-throwing course to ensure you're confident enough to use the studio on your own.
