Cyanotype on Ceramics

Forget me not workshop

Step into a world where art, craft and nostalgia come together. In this unique workshop, we combine the beauty of ceramics with the blueprinting technique, cyanotype. The result?
A personal artwork for the wall that captures memories in deep blue and white.

📍 For who:
Everyone! No experience needed.

📅 When:
Saturday October 25 13:30 – 15:30 @our studio Ravellaan 13

💸 Cost:
€50 Regular || Early Bird €45

What to expect

During this session, you will learn how to make cyanotype prints on pre-made and fired ceramics. Using natural light and specially treated surfaces, you will bring your own compositions to life – think silhouettes, photos or patterns – all printed on handmade ceramic tiles. You will go home with two beautiful wall decorations that tell a story. After printing with the cyanotype technique, the pieces will be sealed with a protective varnish (not glaze) to preserve the delicate blue prints.

 This workshop is for you if…
* You would like to learn more about making cyanotypes

* You would like to experiment with mixing different media, in this case ceramics and cyanotype

Get inspired, meet like-minded people and immerse yourself in an afternoon full of art, connection and creativity.

What is included:
* Your finished wall decorations
* All materials, tools & 2 pre-made ceramic tiles
* Guidance and explanation about the process of cyanotype
* Option to make more prints (for a small fee)
* Coffee/tea & nibbles

Something about the teacher:

Melanie:

Hi! I am Melanie and last spring I was an intern at Hola Lola Studio. I study at the HKU and as part of my studies (Graphic Design), I spend a lot of time experimenting with different media.
In my work, I therefore like to combine unexpected techniques. One of the techniques I explored is the combination of cyanotype and ceramics. My research started at the academy where I made some art pieces about sirens using this technique. The nice thing about ceramics and cyanotype is that your result will always be a bit of a surprise. This leads you to unexpected results that in turn make you enthusiastic for further research and experimentation. I would love to share my knowledge with you in this workshop!
