Teapot Workshop

Ready to level up your wheel-throwing skills? This advanced 3-part workshop is designed for experienced ceramicists eager to make their very own teapot. Guided by our friend Domonkos you will learn all the steps that go into this process.

What to expect

Has making a teapot been on your ceramics bucket list forever? Maybe you’ve felt overwhelmed by the thought of centering over a kilo of clay or assembling all the parts into one functional piece. Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! We’re thrilled to welcome back our talented friend and potter, Domokos Olasz, to guide you step by step through this exciting process.

Schedule

Workshop Schedule:

  • 6th April 13:00 - 16:00: Throw the teapot's components—body, spout, and lid.

  • 13th April 13:00 - 16:00: Trim and assemble the elements into a fully functional teapot.

  • 4th May 13:00 - 15:00: Glaze your finished piece.
    Please mark all three dates in your calendar!


What's included: 

  • All materials, tools, clay, and glazing

  • Complimentary tea, coffee, and snacks to keep you fueled


Important Notes:

  • Skill Level: This workshop is designed for advanced students who are already proficient on the wheel.

  • Missed Classes: If you’re unable to attend a session, please contact us. While we’ll try to help, we recommend waiting for a future workshop if you know in advance you’ll miss a session, as rescheduling is limited.

  • Your teapot will be ready for pick-up approximately 3 weeks after glazing.

About Domonkos Olasz

Domonkos has been living in Utrecht for the past four years. Pottery has been his passionate side project for over two years, where he creates functional ceramics like cups, bowls, plates, jars, vases, jugs, and teapots in his home studio. He also enjoys exploring the complex science of glaze making and shares his creative process on his Instagram account @dko_pottery.
