What to expect
In this hands-on workshop, Natalia will teach you the fascinating process of constructing clay whistles and wind-sounding ocarinas, all inspired by the ceramic sound systems of indigenous Latin American cultures. Through guided demonstrations, you’ll learn how to shape two simple whistles with different tones and one wind-sounding ocarina. Once your instruments are ready, you’ll have the chance to sculpt them into unique, artistic forms without compromising their sound quality.
The workshop begins with a brief historical introduction, offering reference images and background on the techniques used. Afterward, you'll dive into the creative process, gaining insights into how sound is produced and receiving step-by-step guidance as you bring your instruments to life. Depending on the pace of the group, you may also have time to add elements for decoration.
The concert
The concert will be hosted in our studio on the 18th of October and starts around 18:00. The concert gives you the opportunity to hear them play the ceramic instruments together.
